We treat the toughest cases of treatment-resistant mental illness.

We see you are suffering
Let us help!

We know you feel awful.

We know you’ve been feeling awful for a long time.

About half of psychiatric patients don’t find adequate relief with ordinary treatment paths.

Many of our patients come here after years of suffering, with multiple attempts at treatment and numerous applications of trial & error treatments. Patients often come here as a “last-ditch-effort”.

Other patients suddenly find themselves in a new and bewildering world, unsure what to do next.

Either way, after thorough testing, we will offer treatments that are tailored to you, with the intent that you will experience relief from your suffering and reintegration into life and society.

“My calling is to help you
  find a path that works!”

Steve Best, MD

Treatment-Resistant Conditions

The condition you are experiencing is complex.

It is rarely one condition, but a set of co-existing conditions (comorbidity).

This comorbidity has been in place for years and influenced the brain in ways which cannot be understood or addressed just by assessing the symptoms.

A first step is to evaluate the function of the brain through Brain SPECT imaging and QEEG.

We then combine the brain function assessment with tests of body function and presenting symptoms to create a foundation of understanding about the complexities of your condition.

With that understanding we are able to tailor a treatment plan to your specific, complex suffering.

  • A comprehensive explanation for your situation

  • What to do about it

We Help You Understand

What is Brain SPECT Functional Imaging?

Brain SPECT visualizes the amount of blood flowing through the various areas of the brain. It enhances our psychiatric assessment because regional blood flow is a reliable indicator of regional brain activity or function. As an example, brain regions that show high or low activity can indicate an imbalance that may be effectively targeted through our treatments.

These functional changes appear long before the structural changes that can be seen on routine structural MRI or CT and provide valuable insights about the global condition of the brain.

We use SPECT to visualize changes in function, ultimately guiding us towards an effective treatment plan.

Brain SPECT Imaging Examples

Patient 1 has a hyper-perfused brain which needs to be calmed.

Patient 2 has an under-perfused brain which needs to be stimulated.
